I forgot to mention about the SAN toolkit -- you have to modify it, but it is easy since it comes with source code. The names in [white "<stuff>"] and [black "<stuff>"] PGN tags frequently will have non-ascii charcters for many players. SAN won't read them unless you fix it. One more thing. Sometimes, you will see things like this: [white "Hirarcs \"Computer\""] And you have to fix that too. SAN will stop right there. After addressing these two details, I did not see any other problems.
