Hi
I have just been experimenting with moving my "TSCP" like Winboard engine from
the PC to run on a little 50Mhz Motorola PowerPC board. I connected the remote
board's Serial channel to a PC running Hyperterm and essentially just modified
the engine's printf and scanf to work over the serial port instead and finally a
little tweak to the timer code and it runs fine !!
It was surprisingly easy, but I would like to use a GUI interface on the PC
instead of the text based Console screen.
I think Chess Arena can handle a Serial Interface directly but I couldn't find
any detailed info on the protocol.
I guess the other option I would have is to use Auto232, but again I am not sure
exactly what this does and the protocol details.
Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
