The 3000+ is 166fsb(333DDR) and 2.16GHz and has 512K L2 cache. The 3200+ is 2.2GHz, 200fsb(400DDR) and has 512K L2 cache. The 2800+ however is 2.25GHz, has 256K of L2 and runs 166fsb/333DDR. Since the L2 and fsb speeds won't matter for chess, the 2800+ would be your best bet. If you don't mind pretested chips (which will save you a ton of cash, and will be much faster than a 2800+, 3000+ or 3200+) go to www.newageoc.com
