There are many tools (eg cleansweep) that let you clean your disk
and windows registry after uninstalling a program. They are quite
efficient even to track hidden information written during install
(both for DOS and Windows applications).
Of course this kind of features should be provided (or at least
a better standard should be set) by the OS ;-)
