You have an assumption  that the king is better than shredder.

I do not assume it.
I think that they are at similiar level and the fact that the king got first
place and not shredder is a small surprise.

Shredder was the favourite before the tournament because it had hardware
advantage relative to the king.

This is not a very big advantage but it is an advantage.
