Kurt,

I'm sorry that my words were misunderstood. I never meant to say that your work
served no purpose, or that it was being ignored. Johan follows every post on
this board, and definitely makes notes of other user's tests of his engine. I
have also known him to specifically put many positions from these tests into his
test position database. This allows him to improve the engine between versions.

I think we have all noticed that The King 3.23 (CM9000) is a noticeably stronger
engine than version 3.12 (CM8000), and this is in large part due to results from
the settings that were created by other users that, among other things,
specifically used high King Safety and Selectivity values. Certainly, your tests
were among the most scientific and useful.

I certainly can't speak for Johan, and I am now no longer speaking as a
representative of Ubi Soft or as a developer of Chessmaster. But I DO know that
your tests also went a VERY long way towards convincing people of the potential
strength of Johan's engine, and helping to give the engine the respect it
definitely deserved all along.

All I can say is that your work is DEFINITELY not useless. While Johan has (and
should have) the final say about his own work, I do know that he is always open
to suggestions and comments, and, as I said, he DOES read this board regularly.
He just does not post here, which is, of course, his right.

Therefore, I hope that you (and all others) will keep up your fine work. I know
it is extremely time-consuming, and it is very much appreciated.
