There's much more satisfaction in "working" with amateur engines, even though a large percentage isn't that useful for the author. Therefore it would be very beneficial with the assistance of someone knowledgeable about chess instead of chess morons like myself. Closing or just maintaining the gap between amateurs and commercial programs is a noble task IMO. Commercial programs already have several paid minions and faithful supporters for their cause.
