I have Gambit Tiger 2.0 for almost a year but only yesterday i noticed a small but annoying problem. When i changed it’s style-“Gambit level” (from aggressive which is the default, to normal or suicidal) i noticed that no change in evaluations has been made. And that it was the evaluations of the default aggressive style. Then i tried Shredder and Hiarcs and the same problem occurred. But with Shredder and Hiarcs i found a little “trick” that can change it’s playing style: When i press F3 for loading the engine, i don’t choose immediately the “Engine parameters”, but i load the engine with default and then i right click on engine pain and select “engine” and give the parameters for the style i want. Then everything are OK. But with Gambit Tiger 2.0 this doesn’t work. Whatever i do, it plays with aggressive style. The other parameters like “draw value”etc... they work perfect. The same with Shredder and Hiarcs. I can change the other parameters like “King safety”,etc... without doing the above procedure. I tried Fritz 8,Hiarcs 8,Shredder 7,Fritz 6,Fritz 7, Shredder 6 GUI’s but always the same. So does anyone have any idea for what should i do for changing Gambit Tiger style before referring to Chessbase. (I have of cource a legal copy of Gambit Tiger 2.0 (Chess Tiger 14.0) and not anything cracked GUI’s etc...). Thanks for any ideas.
