what you call a 'laser mouse' is probably what we yanks call an 'optical mouse.' since you are using an internal 56k modem it could be a softmodem-- stealing clock cycles from your cpu to communicate as opposed to a dedicated chipset for that purpose. a modem with a soft card costs$10 oem to $22 in usa while a 'dedicated' pci modem costs between $40 and $60 here if that helps you figure it... wcn-- where is their server?
