People who have CB 7.0/8.0, or older Fritz GUI versions still installed, can
consider to use Fritz 7 NoMMX for tactical analysis. According to my tests, it
may find many combinations a bit faster than the "normal" Fritz 7 (which of
course isn't slow either :o).

Another difference is, I think the F7 NoMMX version displays "one-ply-only pvs"
much less often than the other engine, which could again make it a useful
alternative for interactive analysis. The normal Fritz 7 engine has a tendency
to sometimes display main variants which consist only of one move, with no real
variant coming up for minutes.

But of course I don't doubt that the the "normal" engine is stronger, in
general. There are some rating lists where NoMMX ranks way behind the updated F7
engine versions (7.0.0.2, 7.0.0.6 etc.).

(Can't comment on F8/F8 NoMMX regarding all this.)
