Go up one level in this thread

But I have only the german instructions, so I tried to translate the most important parts: I have a SE manual in german language, for the version with the 2 LCD displays. Levels: ------- A1...B8 = average time per move, from 1,5 sec to 15 min (display shows the time setting when the square is pressed). 1st time control is after 40 moves, and then after 20 moves each. C1...D8 = total time for the whole game E1...E8 = search depth in plies (...I assume; the german manual says moves instead of plies) F1: computer adapts to the player's speed F2: computer plays twice as fast as the player F3: infinite time (analysis level) F4: for mate problems Enter Position: --------------- press: - enter position - library/clear board Use piece buttons and sound/color to set up the position. Sound/color also controls who has the move. Setup is finished by pressing the enter position button again. Replaying games: ------------------ After a game, setup the pieces in starting position and press the replay button (not new game). Computer will show the moves on the board. The replay mode can be left by pressing the replay button again. (Here, I seem to remember that SE doesn't just stop the replay by that, but jumps to the final position of that game, unfortunately.) The Library function is, according to the manual, not for storing games, but for extending the opening library with up to 240 moves. The manual says, a small number of games can by stored though, but would have to be recalled by starting to enter the opening moves of that game... it sounds a bit complicated and not quite useful. Anyway, the keys needed are: New Game to start the process, Multi Move to be able to enter variations, and Library/Clear Board to store the line. The content is kept by switching off with the Save button, but is lost by switching to OFF. Style settings: -------------- After pressing LEVEL, the following style settings can be chosen in addition to the level itself: H1/H5: normal H2/H6: aggressive H3/H7: very aggressive H4/H8: positional style H1...H4 chooses the standard openings, H5...H8 chooses more unusual openings. I think these are the most important infos from the manual. I hope you have the LCD displays, which provide additional information and should allow to figure out the rest. The Super Enterprise participated in my shuffle chess tournament - but the opposition was far superior: http://meineseite.i-one.at/PermanentBrain/oldies2/oldies2a.htm Regards, M.Scheidl
