Go baffles computers because it is hard for computers to evaluation positions very well, while arimaa just has a huge number of possibilities at each turn. From a quick look, it seems like arimaa will be much more tactical than go, and much easier to evaluate which side stands better. So go may still be harder than arimaa for computers.
