tests of physical prowess are not the same thing as tests of "human
intelligence"
there are several species of animals that can run faster then man or are
stronger then man, but man still competes against himself

what seperates man from the rest of all living things is the ability to "reason"

chess has always been one of the benchmark's for human reasoning and
intelligence
this is why AI progammers picked chess in the first place as a scientific
experiment
the reasoning being, that if they could make a program play chess as well as a
human being, then perhaps it would teach us something about human intelligence

when that inevitable day comes where PC programs easily defeat our Super GM'S..
for me at least,Human chess will have no interest or relevance
