why blame SSDF -- are they the ones who made CM sort of a pain in the a$$ to run in a non CM GUI? why blame Johan de Koning, the CM series, which predominately has used his King engine, has sold over 5M copies. Work out the royalties .. he has done quite well under the present format ---why would he fix something that is clearly not broken in terms of generating personal income ... I see no incentive for anyone or any group to change - it is what it is and we might as well get used to it... I find myself playing all my engines in Chessbase GUI 1. It handles the most engines as far as I can tell. 2. It works flawlessly with DGT board.(get the latest driver from May 13th) 3. It is loaded with features and hooks ups nicely with Chessbase database program. 4. It allows all engines to uses its books. 5. It is a great looking GUI ( I prefer greenmarble with light marble background - very classy looking.) 6. It has great voice move anouncements with DGT board. 7. With the wb2uci adapter I can now set all my crafty commands via CB GUI - much more pleasant than editing text files. For the record, I believe Utzinger's CM SKR settings is the strongest engine on my machine at LTC and I always run CM under Cb GUI.
