Reinhard and I had a long discussion about this in the FCP forum.  The original
rules are ambiguous in this regard.  In the end we decided that it made more
sense to not allow castling when there are pieces between king/rook and their
destination squares.  Later, I saw that the rules on ICC concur.

As far as not being able to handle an illegal move, Betsy will report "Illegal
Move".  The interface really should not allow the user to input an illegal move
and I sure it will be fixed.
