I am using XPhome with an AMD chip for almost a year now. I am sure it is way
more stable than windows ME. xp is based upon an NT kernel while ME is a win98
experience.
Now I would probably buy XPProfessional for a chess system because this flavor
of XP supports Hyperthreading archeitecture, which can be useful in running
'deep' playing software especially on a P4 platform which allows multithreading
on a single chip.
