I suspect you will discover that shredder dynamically reconfigures itself once
it identifies how many CPU's it has to use. In all probability, if there were
one static executable you would probably see similar behavior to Fritz and
others.
It does require some overhead to run on multiple CPU's that is costly on a
single CPU.
