I did some testing with the 16 bit Junior 4.6 in the Fritz 16 bit environment running engine vs engine matches against Fritz 5 and the testing was inconclusive of whether Fritz 5 hogged the cpu. The problem was that Juniour at fast time controls always refused to use much of it's time control. Amir Ban admitted that Junior's time allocation was faulty. I measured the cpu use in WIN NT 4 from the Task manager. Fritz had a much higher % of CPU usage but of course Fritz 5 used it's time properly so as a % of time used the Fritz 5- Junior 4.6 cpu usage seemed okay. However your new charge that Junior 5 plays differently in engine vs engine mode than from normal mode will have to be backed up with tests that have same time controls and same hash. Unfortunately because there is no public Fritz autoplayer, you can never duplicate the conditions exactly between engine-engine and normal mode. -- Komputer Korner
