For many commercial/top amatuers engines search depth =5 should be near 1900. Of
course it will play almost instanteously in most cases. I modified crafty with
a delay move option so that one can set the search depth to any level - and it
will always use the appropriate amount of time for the given time control. It
give the game a much more natual flow to it since you are not getting the
instanteous repsonses that can be unsettling when ome is trying to play a
serious game with a normal time pattern to think about the moves - when it's
your turn as well as as when one is pondering on the computer time. Instaneous
moves removes the ability to ponder onthe opponents time.
