Dear Peter,

I suggest you get yourself a DGT Board which is more robust and is designed to
work with the ChessBase GUI. I had the same experience with the Novag Universal
Board which prompted me to return it and bought the DGT Board instead, which
I've been using for three years without glitch. Recently, the DGT Board now
allows you to connect it to a USB port instead of the legacy 9 pin Serial/COM
port.
