This 90 games tournament ran this afternoon. It took less than two hours to
run. Most of the games were over in 30 seconds. All the crafty engines were set
to search depth (sd) =5. All the non crafty engines were set to sd=4. There
were no time limits. The genesis of this tournament is that I observed in
playing CM and Crafty at sd=5 , Chessmaster was stronger. Not that sd=5 does
not mean the same thing to both engines and it would not be true to call this a
fair tournament. It was simply a little experiment. I believe CM played at a
full strength with pondering off with just the sd limited to 5 is near 1900 in
strength.
