This is OK for me because it makes not much sense to set the hash size in Chessbase GUI. The program use TranspositionSize and PawnHashsize with predifined values. If you dont like the 1 MB you could also use this Wb2Uci.eng file [ENGINE] Name=SmarThink Author=Sergei Markoff Filename=SmarThinkUCI.exe [OPTIONS] Program=C:\Chessbase\Engines.UCI\SmarThink\SmarThink.exe Ponder=true Edit=cb-edit Analyze=false Logfile=false ShowThinkingMove=true Visible=Ponder,Logfile,ShowThinkingMove,Hash Then it will start up with the dault value (eg. 64MB) but it wont use 64MB of course. Possible Transposition size values are 15 - 24 according to the .ini-file. And still no > access to the EGTB in the search !! And also > problems when switching between playing and > anylising mode. I am giving up using SmarThink >ยจ under Fritz8-GUI > Kurt Strange! I have EGTB in the search and no problems switching. Maybe its the operating system? I use Windows 2000. Michael
