A question.
You can view engine analysis pane while you play against a chess engine in a
chessbase Gui. Do you ever try this? It sounds more to your taste than my own.

I might view an engines opening book while I play against it as a reinforcement
of learning (eg., show tree) but i will not allow myself to be distracted by the
'analytical noise' an engine outputs while I play. By the same token, I almost
never use chatter when I want to learn anything-- it distracts me-- that's why
your recommendation caught me off-guard.

here's when i use chatter: the machine is brutalizing my playing so of course I
need some light entertainment even sarcasm to take the edge off of that- chess
should be fun. I liked the old chatter disk from fritz 5.32 it had daniel king's
voice.kin is a good teacher if you have seen his video cd files on the Attack!
trainer, so he can read and engage. I am not aware of the persona of fritz 8
chatter, although I really wish they might use an american voice sometime--
someone who can be swarmy and annoying. the new voice is alittle insipid. i am
thinking maybe 'bronxbattler' on icc- finegold.

all the best- marc
