I agree with you 100% I only think that the depth of the books should be limited, after all, just how deep into a program is an opening, 10 moves, 20 moves, some games are over before that. The thing that set me off was the fact that one of the above mentioned programs achived checkmate without ever leaving its opening book. Bill
