The best utility to overclock without touch the cpu bridges is SpeedFan, that
lets you modify the FSB.

I have overclocked my Athlon 2200XP+ from 1.8 GHz to 1.92 Ghz changing the FSB
from 133 to 142, and I have no problem.

My cooler is a Titan with copper base and thermal paste included (all for 10
euros) and my motherboard is a EliteGroup K7S5A Pro (50 euros).
