I'm rated about 1800-1850 on any given day. I like playing computers, and I like playing on ICC. But ICC has a huge rating gap in the programs available to the average member. It requires that new programs play below 1800, unless they are 1) run by the author or 2) paid accounts. And unfortunately, computers are so fast that even something like TSCP runs 1700-1900, on average. As a result once you get to 1800-1850, there are literally no computer opponents you can play that are consistently a couple of hundred points stronger than you are. Take a little of the fun away, since I like to win once in a while. Roger
