I've thought for some time that it would take someone with the proper know-how about 2 hours to write a winboard engine that gave winboard auto232 compatibility. The engine doesn't need to do anything but accept/send moves to winboard and accept/send moves to auto232. The idea of making it an engine means that no modifications are necessary to winboard itself. My only problem is that I don't know the Win32 Auto232 library well. I've looked at it and it looks easy to use.... but I haven't tried it.... (I am not a windows program - more of unix user who occasionally compiles his chess program for winboard) - Dan
