Hello Manfred, I'm not saying that the Shredder 7.04 is buggy. I like this program very much, i like all the shredder releases from shredder 5 to the actual shredder 7. The fact is that i was surprised by the result of a "stupid" engine match of 100 games: Sh7 against Sh7.04. It seems that Sh 7.04 doesn't really like blitz games although the Shredder engines became much much stronger on this special time control than the previous shredder 6 and 6.02. I must also say than the Sh 7.04 doesn't probably like the opening positions rising from the Dr Nunn TestSet 2, it could be the reason for this bizarre loss. Anyway, i think that trying to improve this engine (in a certain type of positions) could help someone in the choise of a special settings to train in these types of positions. It's always interesting to try new settings, even if they aren't really much much stronger (the chessmaster example is really interesting). I also have an idea in mind: Why not try to play a match with triple brain of three different shredder settings and see the result. It could be a revolution: the engine will be theoretically more confortable with a much wide range of openings and thus he would normally loose a fewer number of games. What do u think about this? For the Shredder 7.06 release, i really would like to see such an up-date, but i'm awake of the fact that such a release will be probably named shredder 8 (after more improvements). I want to thank all the chess programmers (professionals and also non-professionals) and especially Mr Stefen Meyer Kahlen.
