Resuming tourneys is not always easy.  If you change ANY of the engine
parameters, it starts a new  tourney.   Their is a way to edit a tourney in
process - use a text editor to modify *.trn directly.  But I would only use to
change an engine paremeter - not number of particpants.  Sometime you can
salvage a tournry by editing the *trn file which started a new tourney by edit
the lines that say :

FirstGame=xxx
LastGame=yyy

back to the first and last game of the first tourney.

It soulds like it started a new tourney -- look at the database and edit the
file to match the first and last game of the first tourney.
