If you change ANY of the engine parameters, it starts a new tourney. Their is a way to edit a tourney in process - use a text editor to modify *.trn directly. But I would only use to change an engine paremeter - not number of particpants. Sometime you can salvage a tournry by editing the *trn file which started a new tourney by edit the lines that say : FirstGame=xxx LastGame=yyy back to the first and last game of the first tourney. It soulds like it started a new tourney -- look at the database and edit the file to match the first and last game of the first tourney.
