I am currently trying to find as many Linux/Unix engines and eventually publish
a blitz rating list here on CCC. Yes, Crafty and Yace come to mind right away,
but don't forget Comet, Phalanx, The Crazy Bishop, or the extremely strong Deep
Sjeng (commercial). There is also SOS (Rudolf Huber) that was written for Linux
and is probably stronger than both Crafty and Yace. However I believe that SOS
for Linux is a private engine. So is Patzer, another strong program. Then you
have Diep, a superb and intelligent program. There are many Linux programs now
and I like that a lot.
