i bought all my previous additions of Hiarcs for mac.
Hiarcs 7 was a dual mac and dos disk.
H8 was my first fritz version of hiarcs.
so there's much i wouldn't know about early windows versions.

although in it's first conception I made bug reports to the hiarcs crew. first
mac version of hiarcs did not handle epd or pgn well - i was attempting to
export to cbase for mac and smart chess and it wouldn't work.
what amazed the hiarcs team more than my discovery was that in the year the
product was out, I was the only user to complain and discover the bug, or so I
was told (i'll have to check my old correspondence. )
at the time i requested a 'deep' version of hiarcs for my modified mac-the cpus
were on a daughterboard -a dual processor 604e and they said no way no market
for it. i think that was 1997or '98
