AFAIK yace works only in linux. You cant download yace binary for Solaris for
example. Same thing with Deep Sjeng. But you can compile crafty source on every
unix, so if we speak about unix then crafty is probably strongest.

In linux there is stronger competition. In my linux box, so far i have tested
yace, crafty, comet, pepito, scidelet and gnuchess. In my tests, yace and crafty
are much much stronger than other engines. Yace Paderborn vs. Crafty 19.3 is
fifty fifty. Yace 0.99.50 vs Crafty 19.3 crafty is better 60-40. These are my
results, other people can have other results of course.

Note - i have compiled crafty with intel compiler, but its only 10% faster than
gcc version. Maybe i have some resources here for crafty, i have read claims
that icc version can be 30% faster. I think i should play with make options to
get better binary...
