I think this is all FUD, one way or another, because:

i. even if SCO were to win how would an entire operating system vanish? A
functional equivalent to the disputed areas of code would be developed (and
probably is being developed as we write for safety);

ii. there have been almost constant copyright rumblings regarding Unix and Linux
over 30 years* which have never made much difference in the end;

ii. as has been pointed out, SCO has chosen its (far bigger) enemies badly and
is backtracking.

* and, I suggest, opening Windows source code would have the same result.
