I think that the computer could help us to improve our play, at least till we
become a grand-master (which is not very very easy). Even grand-masters
regularly improve their play when facing computers especially at the rapid time
controls. So the answer os certainly a big YYYYYYYYEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!

Of course, i think that someone should play against a program that is not much
much stronger than his ELO ( at least in the beginning), because we must be able
to win against the Beast al least sometimes.
