A good point :) - it happened to me, too, recently. I played two correspondence games, one with engine assistance allowed and planned, the other one against a friend and his computer where I had no plans to use computer assistance myself. One evening I only remembered this after I had spent quite a few hours looking at some critical lines in this game together with Fritz ;). But one thing is for sure - don't expect to learn _anything_ if you use an engine to assist your play at your current level. It will most likely control _you_ :) . IECG (http://www.iecg.org) really sounds like a good place to start. It is free, computer assistance is allowed but you will find many players who don't use engines at all, probably everybody who is rated below 1700, so you can find out if you are able to resist the temptation without violating any rules ;) Cheers, Peter
