Many people probably bought the product for the sole purpose of playing with the exact engine that played Kasparov. I don't know the laws in other countries, but in the U.S., this is illegal by law to advertise something and not deliver what you promised, or to deliver something different than what you promised. I think at the very least, they should allow people who purchased Junior 8 to "upgrade" to Deep Junior 8 for the price difference, or some other reduced price (or free, since it was their mistake). If nothing is done to compensate for the mistake, I can't imagine many people buying Junior 9 when there are many other strong engines available. Also, I can't imagine this being the fault of Amir or Shay, and I feel bad for them in this situation.
