You are correct anything could happen, but ever since I received my CD of
Shredder7, I matched Shredder 7 versus Fritz 8 and the result has not favored
shredder 7.

The first match was 20 games both under Shredder 7 GUI, and both using
Shredder7.ctg. W9 D4 L7 In favor of Fritz8

The second match was 20 games both under Fritz8 GUI, and using Fritz8.ctg W8 D5
L7 in favor of Fritz 8.

My conclusion after only 40 games so far is that Shredder 7 is slightly weaker
than Fritz 8 when both use the same opening book, but the difference is too
small and the number of games is too small, to make any concrete jugedment. I
have NOT tested Shredder 7.04 Classic against fritz 8 yet, but I predict that if
both use the same opening book Shredder 7.04 classic is not that much stronger
than fritz 8.

PS: I forgot to provide some detail the version that I used was Fritz 8.0.0.23
and the time control 40/40

Pichard.
