In order to open a Chessbase database you need at least:

.cbh        Header
.cbg        Games and Variations
.cbp        Player index
.cbt        Tournament index
.cbc        Commentator index
.cbs        Source index

If there are annotations the .cba file is also necessary.

Why not asking the sender to send all files *.cb...
