Hi there, at the moment only Arena GUI supported FRC/Chess 960 (Fischer Random Chess). Three engines supported FRC: 01. Betsy 02. Chispa 03. The Baron Reinhard Scharnagl and FRC programmers discuss in Arena Support Forum (FCP Forum) about FRC protocol problems and other ideas. It's not possible to play with other GUIs FRC with castling rules. FRC without castling rules = Shuffle Chess Arena supported also Shuffle Chess! It's not possible to play with other GUIs all 960 FRC positions. Only 18 positions are possible with other GUIs. I believe that different persons thinking that all engines supported FRC but this is wrong. Chess Engine *__and__* Chess GUI must support FRC rules. At the moment Arena is still in development. Arena is not in beta and not in version 1.0. Arena programmer Martin Blume works on different changes and new options. - Tournament options (tournament tables, new options for eng tournaments) - FRC - different new things (online update, language file options, bugfixes and little changes). If you have questions about FRC ... it is a nice idea to read the message in Arena Support Forum about this topic (I hope that other programmers add FRC support). Here can be found important information. Thanks to Reinhard Scharnagl for his computer-chess-pinoeer-work to FRC. Also to the group of FRC programmers ... With the comming soon Arena version can be found an FRC setup with our three FRC partners: Chispa, Betsy and TheBaron. Have a nice day! Best Frank PS: I believe FRC is also with WinBoard possible. I have not try it but Betsy programmer wrote this in the past in CCC and on his webpage (I believe with a tool). URLs about FRC: http://www.amateurschach.de/schach/_chess960.htm A lot of interesting discuss: http://f22.parsimony.net/forum41668/ The best idea for FRC development interesting programmers and users.
