That giving a higher valeu for 1 of them almost always is a mistake. But some theoreticans used extreme forms to benifit one above the other In the situation of two White bischops the rook is not able to chase the bishops away when they are conected While it could drive away the bishops when it would have one Black and one White bischop there fore they deffend better But this is of more importance in 2 knights versus two bischops end games. when the conection of the knights is lost the bischops shall win when not it is hard to say which side benefits.
