You are a bit split in that regard.

Of course not our life is depending of CSS.

But why CSS forum is still so important?

That is simple. It is because ChessBase/CSS are marketing leading companies!
Nobody refuses to intentionally disregard these companies and their
institutions. That is the very simple explanation. Of course you can open your
own forum and ignore CSS. You will certainly not die of thirst or hunger. But
perhaps you will still read the declarations to be up-to-date. And CL explained
that you even write there anonymously. Under that aspect it is strange that you
asked such questions now, why other people must absolutely be in CSS...
