I sent a new version of NoonianChess to someone for benchmarking.
They had a 3.06 GHz P4. It is only 7% faster than my 1.6GHz AMD.
The 1.6GHz AMD goes by the name 2000+.

You can check crafty benchmarks on a wide variety of processors at
http://www.specbench.org/cpu2000/results/cpu2000.html

The 3.06 GHz P4 runs the crafty benchmark in 85.4 sec.
The AMD 3200+ (2.2 GHz) runs the crafty benchmark in 75.5 sec.
The AMD 2400+ (2.0 GHz) runs the crafty benchmark in 86 sec.
