I am impressed by that article. Thanks, Harald! Still something to consider.
You've understood that CSS people are inconsistent, faking supporting
personalities, discriminating useful critics, deleting intriguing messages where
weaknesses of products are shown - - and many more evil behaviour - BUT, as a
next step, you now must realise that this behaviour is a mirror of the CSS
staff's smartness or the lack of. What you must understand is that the behaviour
as such in defense of a company (ChessBase) or its products or of a newsgroup -
is a universally used behaviour. And this is more so when at the base many
people want to feed their families with the company's income. I assure you that
you would behave the same. More, I am not sure if you would do your job with
such smartness and irony as Fred Friedel. But look, he must live with the people
of the staff. He cannot change the team on a weekly base. Since you have a
webpage on your own and since you've done a lot of testings - you know that over
half of the time it is boring to the bones. Now to fulfill your job under such
boring conditions -- you need people with the appropriate characters. So, under
that aspect certain figures, which look so odd and boring, are exactly the right
ones for such a job. In short, you cannot lead such a company or journal with
people who change their opinions on a daily base or who have a temper like a
quicksilver circus, no, you need someone like DS.
Someone, yes, I agree with you, who is only satisfied when he finally knows your
identity. What do you think how much fun I had when I discussed with him as
"Sonja" and he was totally confused because I knew so much, he couldn't find a
cupboard to fill me in. Know what I mean? If you are smart, you dont have to
fear all kind of ghosts and spooky conspirators. But if you have to lead an
institution like the CSS or a company like ChessBase, you forcedly need also
people like DS! So the smart Friedel needs the hard working DS. Friedel can
enjoy freedom of speech but DS must delete messages to protect the institution.
This is reality, Harald! And it's not inconsistent. The whole policy is working
like this. You must have different characters for different tasks. Of course the
absolute hype is when a single man invents the necessary roles and initiates a
whole empire of contradicting streamings. That is what we can observe in the
internet every day. Just in your neighborhood you have a great talent for such
games... :)
What I wanted to say is that you should reconsider your premature verdict and
decision. I think you should well cooperate in CSS forum with your usual stuff
inspite your new knowledge how reality functions. I assure you that you would do
the same if you had to secure such an "empire". So dont be too harsh with Helmut
Conrady. He's just making his first steps like you yourself.
