I'm thinking about doing this, but I think that the computer is faulty. Not mine
in particular, but the whole series.
I think the APM BIOS is buggy. When I go to suspend mode the computer completely
crashes 20% of the time (1 time out of 5 or 6, approximately). The only way to
restart it is to remove the AC plug, remove the battery and power, put back
everything and turn it on again. Nasty.
The Windows 2000 that comes with it does not crash, but it is using ACPI to
suspend/resume.
Still, I love this laptop (Dell X200). It's really small and light, I can carry
it everywhere.
