As a user of chess engines, I would like to know if the operator's procedures can impact the engine's move choices [assuming limited time]. Since various kinds of pruning seem in common use, perhaps the current contents of the hash table might impact the pruning choices? The assumption is that the contents of the hash table at any given time depends on the history of what has happened before, including the operator's use. This question is in context of post-mortem analysis. I really do want to know the answer to this question so that I can optimize my procedures for use of the engine, if that's possible. Bob D.
