No, it's a real problem, and a legitimate one. If you want to play against the general opponent pool, and maintain a high rating, you have to be able to deal with low rated players who don't have much ambition during the games where you have black. If the programs are vulnerable to a certain playing style, it is not right to criticize oppoonents who know this and take advantage of it, rather it is right to criticize the program for playing in this way. It's to a program's credit if it is able to avoid this kind of thing, it's better for the program's results, and it's better for the customer, who isn't encouraged to distort their playing style in order to achieve success against the program. I see this all the time on the net, mine does it too. I have people who play the same opening over and over again and try to achieve a dead ending. bruce
