After all, the signature initials do not match the poster's username. However, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt this one time. But first, I am very curious as to where you got these "quotes". Where did you see them? To respond: 1) That depends on what you're looking for. Since 5500, there has been a great amount of teaching material added, Winboard support, a new interface (true, based on the old one), an engine that is at least 200 points stronger, etc. etc. etc. However, it IS still "just chess". 2) Untrue, IMHO. But, once again, this is somebody's opinion, rather than a supposed statement of fact. 3) I have no idea what this means, but if someone wants a program that looks like Fritz, that person should just buy Fritz. 4) Untrue. The ENGLISH analysis is intended for the novice to low-intermediate player. If a master is looking for insights from the analysis feature, all he/she needs to do is look at the "Analysis" tab, which shows the PVs and scores for moves. The opening book is 100% based on GM games and was created to make sure that no blunders can be made by the engine. It is also intended to be eclectic, so that it will play many different openings and be enjoyable by all users. 5) No comment necessary.... P.S. Finally, Odd Gunnar Malin did not work directly on Chessmaster 9000, or any other version of Chessmaster. However, his excellent independent work caused me to put his name in the "Special Thanks" section of the credits. jm
