Who suggested the 1000 games? You did. If you understood the situation and the
the question, you would see that it is possible to answer the question. Asking
which version is the best to test isn't the same as asking which version is the
strongest.

People may be curious to see one version play against Junior 8 and for them that
engine would be the best to test whether it is stronger or not.

I actually received a few sensible emails requesting that I test version 8.0.0.8
as its the most respected version as version 8.0.0.23 has some bugs (Ne4 bug?).

My apologies if you confused my intended question of "Which Fritz engine would
people like to see play Junior 8 in 50 Tournament games?" with "Which Fritz 8
engine is the strongest?"

Sometimes people like to offer help to others or conduct a test for which the
results are meaningful to people other than themselves. Surely if I tested Fritz
3 vs Junior 8 people would prefer that I used a more recent version of Fritz.
