Subject: Old 'Learning' programs - How strong are they now????

I was thinking about M-Chess 5.0 and if I remember right it was one of the first
 PC programs to introduce a learning feature. Supposedly it would get better the
more experience it got, at least that was what we were led to believe. I was
wondering if anyone out there has been using such an older program for the past
couple years and has noticed any real improvements. How does it compare against
a current program that does not have the experience?
