Hi friends, In my earlier chess program i generated all the moves at once and then gave each of them a score so that the moves were sorted something like this: 1. hash table moves 2. killers 3. cpatures on material gain 4. other moves on history now i my program uses a different approach: first a move from the hash table is tried, than a killer then the captures then the other moves. The difficulty here is that a lot of time is spend checking for the legality of the hashtable and killer moves. If i understan the Rebel page correctly, Rebel uses something like the first mentioned approach. Which on -or any other of course- is best? Regards Jan Willem
